Victoria Beckham's much-anticipated second-ever Paris Fashion Week show likely won't have passed you by. A special milestone in the Beckham family calendar, the Spice Girl-cum-fashion designer exhibited her eponymous label's autumn/winter 2023 collection in Paris on Friday and it certainly lived up to expectations. But how closely were you paying attention?

Hello! Fashion shares the 5 things you probably didn't know about Victoria Beckham's AW23 PFW show:

1. The show was inspired by the 1975 documentary Grey Gardens

Albert and David Maysles' film which followed a reclusive mother-daughter duo, Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edie (both eccentric relatives of Jackie Kennedy Onassis), partially inspired the collection. Actress Drew Barrymore (and close pal of Victoria) donned a silky green scarf-hood in one of the show's promotional images, paying homage to former socialite and model Edith's signature look. Models wore mixtures of patterns and textures (notably pleats and feathers) and two tone dresses.

2. Eva Longoria colour coordinated outfits with VB

Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria have been best pals for as long as we can remember, and we are so here for their friendship. Is your bestie even your bestie if she doesn’t colour coordinate with you for your fashion show? The Over Her Dead Body actress wore a crisp navy tailored blazer with patterned black tights and black court pumps – combining a VB-approved trend and her chosen colour palette of the evening into one stellar look. Sabrina Elba, Jourdan Dunn, Ashley Graham were also amongst the fashion set’s females on the front row.

3. You need these 6 trends from the show you on your radar

The runway was every uber-feminine dresser's dream, and feather adornments were a key player in VB’s designs. She also made a case for colour-blocking in the form of textured dresses and maxi skirts. The floor was awash with trends we've witnessed across fashion month: oversized blazers worn with only tights as a lower half accompaniment, dainty bow embellishments, animal print (notably croc in VB's case) and plenty of cut-outs. Perhaps wearing denim skirts backwards isn’t your thing, but next time you’re rushing out of the house with your clothes on back to front, style it out by emphasising that Victoria Beckham approves.

4. The vibe was 'XXL bags, always off the shoulder'

Oversized bags have made a welcomed return after microbags dominated the accessories sphere in recent seasons. Thankfully the most functional trend of 2023 has been cemented with VB’s collection. Although she showcased many-a miniature clutch, extra large bags were a key statement accessory. And it’s worth noting they are to be held: under the arm at 90 degrees and never on the shoulder…

5. It was a family affair

The Beckham clan was out in full force to support its matriarch. Victoria’s husband David alongside Brooklyn and his wife Nicola, Cruz and Harper Seven all put on a united front at the show, looking stylish as they viewed the collection from the sidelines. The whole crew – Victoria included – opted for sophisticated tones of black, grey and navy.
