If you’re anything like us, you’re probably already planning your coronation soirée and for those of us aesthetes out there, we want to make sure whatever party we plan, it looks the part. Luckily for us there are plenty of chic ways to incorporate the pomp and pageantry of King Charles III’s coronation into your own home on May 6th.

“I'm so excited to take in all the glamour of the coronation. It's a historical event and I'm looking forward to being part of the pride and festivities,” Cloe Bueso, founder of sustainable luxury tableware retailer The Sette, tells Hello! Fashion, “I love how all the streets and shops get into the coronation spirit with so many decorations and bunting.”

The Sette has become a favourite of the fashion set and has slowly evolved to what it is today, starting as a rental platform for people to create beautiful table settings in their own home, “Covid helped us realise the importance of loved ones and how much we missed sharing a meal and catching up with them in person. Human connection was needed more than ever. The dining table is where most of us gather with our family and friends to share a meal and celebrate special moments. The pandemic was an unprecedented time filled with anxiety and uncertainty. Not knowing when we would see or hug our loved ones made us  crave that connection to loved ones even more,” explains Cloe, “What better way to catch up than around a beautiful table with our favourite meals at home. Nothing is more personal than setting your dining table for people you care about… The Sette is all about making it easy for you to set your table. All our pieces are meant to be mixed and matched with your everyday items as well as our other pieces. We encourage people to combine their everyday items with some key staples in order to create unique looks.”

Some of the most cherished memories we have take place around the dining table and the historic coronation this year will be no different, “I wanted to help people create memories with their loved ones just as I always have… My mother was a main inspiration as she always prided herself on setting beautiful tables. She never held the title of world's best cook but she mastered the art of making everyone feel at home around our dining table. This is what I want for every household. Long-lasting memories with long-lasting table pieces.”

Whether it's an outdoor picnic or garden party, or a spectacular indoor tablescape, Cloe has shared how to create a chic coronation themed table setting just for the readers of Hello! Fashion…

How to create a chic coronation party:

1) Start with the table linen

It all starts with a beautiful tablecloth, then you can add your favourite crockery, cutlery and glassware. We took inspiration from the Union Jack colours. If you are feeling bold you can try a blue gingham tablecloth. (Combine it with red napkins for a festive look.)

2) Use a statement plate

The crockery used was our staple Scallop plates which are extremely versatile and can elevate any table. We love being able to re use our pieces and finding different ways of styling them for multiple occasions.

3) Go for a linen or cloth napkin

For the coronation, you can use your everyday essentials and elevate them. The perfect example of this would be using a White Linen Tablecloth and mixing it with blue and red napkins.

4) Opt for matching cutlery

Add either red or burgundy cutlery, and style the napkin as you best see fit.

5) Add complimentary flowers and candles

Finish your look with some fresh flowers and candles. We believe that any beautiful tablecloth paired with flowers in a stunning vase and matching candles can really set the tone for any occasion.

6) Don’t forget the details

Lastly, finish your tables with your favourite themed accessories. We of course added coronation inspired treats and decorations.

7) Make lasting  memories

“Yes, the tables look beautiful once they are set, but what really elevates them are the people around the table," says Cloe, "The wine stains, food crumbs that are left behind along with laughter and stories told while creating new memories."
