ELTON AND DAVID PARTY WITH CHER IN FRENCH CAPITAL

6 JULY 2006

International stars in the French capital for the haute couture shows also had plenty to keep them entertained in the evenings. Elton John and partner David Furnish joined Cher at a glitzy event at the Baccarat mansion to celebrate the opening of the first Chrome Hearts shop in Paris.

Canadian film-maker David was coolly elegant in a white patterned shirt and satin-lapelled tux as he smiled for photos with the Rocket Man singer. The couple, who married in a civil service last December, are renowned for their designer wardrobes and were clearly keeping abreast of the latest looks, having been spotted front row at the Christian Dior show earlier in the day.

Trendy American jewellery company Chrome Hearts, which specialises in rocker-themed silver pieces, has a huge celebrity following, counting Lenny Kravitz, Karl Lagerfeld and Ashlee Simpson among its customers.

Fellow Chrome fan Cher was also on hand for the launch. The singer, who turned 60 in May, currently has a new movie project - entitled In The Pink - in the pipeline. Snapped at the glamorous post-launch party with Brit tailor Oswald Boateng, she was showing off her youthful looks in a figure-hugging white dress.
