Kim does a 'Samantha' in NY's Soho district

15 MAY 2007

With confirmation that a movie based on the hit TV show Sex And The City has been given the green light, onlookers could have been forgiven for assuming Kim Cattrall was reviving her sultry character on the series, Samantha Jones, when she strolled through New York's Soho district on Monday afternoon. But rather than lensing scenes for the new flick set for release in 2008, the stylish star was simply heading off for a lunch date at local hotspot Mercer in the trendy neighbourhood.

While she may have mirrored sexy singleton Samantha in stepping out solo, reports have it that the 50-year-old actress is planning on settling down again with her hunky Canadian-born beau Alan Wyse, 26. "There is a gap," she says of their difference in years, "but it's nice that he doesn't have to pretend he knows everything, which a lot of men my age do."

Kim, who met Alan when she dined at the Toronto chef's hometown restaurant and began dating him in 2004, is now said by pals to be planning an autumn wedding. "Kim is madly in love with Alan," said a source. "He is the man of her dreams." Her Sex And The City co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis will all likely be in attendance.
