"All this is just cinema… I want to spend more time helping the people who can't defend themselves," reveals Oscar-winner George Clooney in an exclusive interview in this week's issue of HELLO! magazine.

The hunky star who, along with new love Sarah Larson is recovering from an motorbike accident, has been explaining why he thinks there's more to life than the movie business. And in Issue 53 he expands on his feelings about life, art and compassion.

He's keen to work on films which "give cause for reflection", he says. Something reflected in his latest production Michael Clayton, in which he plays a high powered attorney who risks everything to defend victims of a corrupt corporation.

And while accepting that the adulation of fans is part and parcel of a life in the spotlight, it's not something the 46-year-old relishes. "I couldn't put up for a second with what Brad and Angelina put up with… it's crazy," he says, describing the "fuss" around him as "fairly controllable."

His new relationship with 28-year-old Sarah, a former waitress he met at a Las Vegas party, has inevitably ensured he's back in the headlines. But when it comes to discussing the possibility of a family with the brunette beauty he refuses to be drawn. "Where is it written that everyone has to have kids?" he jokes. "You can easily borrow other people's and give them back later."
