Denise Van Outen, who made a splash earlier this week when she turned up to the premiere of the new Andrew Lloyd Webber in a Kama Sutra-style frock, is back in the news having landed her first part in a Hollywood movie. The former Big Breakfast presenter is to star in a romantic comedy opposite The Big Lebowski actor John Goodman and Hugh Laurie from Maybe Baby.

In the film, entitled Albert Ross, Denise, who will play a stereotypical sexy blonde, gets to wear some daring little numbers. “I’ll be showing lots of flesh which makes getting ready for wardrobe easier because there will be less for me to wear,” she says, adding: “That’s all I can really say about the film at the moment because it’s in its early stages.” The movie is set to hit screens in September.

The Essex-born actress has already made a name for herself in the US following her she appearances on Broadway in the musical Chicago, which she previously headlined in London’s West. End.

Last week she was busy promoting her latest venture, a new single entitled Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, which she launched with US crooner Andy Williams. She described the record as “definitely a one off”, however, saying that while she doesn’t rule out the possibility of doing another musical in the future, she plans to concentrate on her film career for the moment.
