Her family's surname is on hotels all over the world, but now Paris Hilton has left a legacy of her own. At the ripe old age of 22, the heiress has had a road named after her in the US town where she filmed her hit reality TV show The Simple Life.

Residents of Altus, Arkansas – population 800 – are now able to cruise down Paris Hilton Boulevard after the town's mayor unveiled the street in her honour.

And fans can enjoy an entire intersection dedicated to the programme, as the lane's crossroad – Nicole Richie Avenue – is named after Paris' equally glamorous co-star.

The sexy socialites shot to celebrity fame after participating in the series, which showed the two – who'd previously never worked a day in their life – integrating into the daily goings on of the tiny rural hideaway.

According to local Arkansas TV station KATV, the entire town turned out for the dedication, which was held in conjunction with the Simple Life DVD release.
