She admits she's a bit old to dress up for Halloween, but that didn't stop Sarah Jessica Parker having fun this week when she joined a host of excited youngsters for a Halloween charity initiative.

The elegantly clad style icon, best known for her shoe-loving character Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City, was surrounded by a host of young ghosts and ghouls at Wednesday's UNICEF event. One of eight children, Sarah grew up trick-or-treating for the children's charity and is now helping promote the concept.

"I am not making this up. My oldest memory is trick-or-treating with UNICEF," says Sarah, who intends to introduce her son James to the same tradition.

Although the pair will be knocking on a few doors on Tuesday, the actress has no intention of donning a costume. "I haven't for years," she admits. "I just can't abide it. I'm so old," she said. "I'm so happy to walk around with these UNICEF boxes with my son and try to monitor his candy." James, who turns four on Saturday, is clearly thrilled at the prospect of dressing up, but is currently facing a dilemma as to what he'll be wearing. "He changes every 20 minutes or so... It's now between Spiderman, Superman, Skeleton Man and Buzz Lightyear," revealed Sarah.
