'Sober up Charlie': Alec Baldwin's advice as troubled actor misses twins' party

14 MARCH 2011

He's hit the headlines recently for his party-loving antics. But one get-together Charlie Sheen missed out on was that of his sons Bob and Max.

The twins - who turned two on Monday - celebrated their birthday on Sunday at the Hilton's family home with their mother Brooke Mueller and 50 guests.

Invitees arrived with lavish gifts for the boys including huge gift baskets, books, games and matching push cars (pictured).

A source told People magazine: "The party is a casual and child friendly celebration. It's all about Max and Bob and their friends. They seem to be having a great time, and so is Brooke."

Troubled actor Charlie - who was recently sacked from hit show Two and a Half Men - was never expected to attend the party.

The 45-year-old recently filed a law suit against Warner Bros and the show's producer Chuck Lorre for $100 million.

Charlie's lawyer Marty Singer is accusing the studio of firing the star and cancelling eight episodes because he made critical statements about the producer in the media.

Marty alleges the cancellations is based on "Warner Bros, capitulating to Lorre's egotistical desire to punish Mr Sheen."

Despite Charlie's insistence in many interviews that he is "winning", the star's erratic behaviour has raised concern amongst fellow actors.

Alec Baldwin posted an open letter to his fellow Hollywood star on The Huffington Post saying: "Sober up, Charlie. And get back on TV, if it's not too late."

He added: "Beg for America's forgiveness. They will give it to you. And then go back. You are a great television star."
