Kate Winslet on her marriage to 'wonderful' Ned Rocknroll

Kate Winslet has opened up about her blissful family life with Ned Rocknroll. Proving that she's happier than ever, Kate described her husband as "really wonderful" in a new interview with People magazine and said that their union is strengthened by their sense of humour. "We've all got our health and we all laugh a lot," she said of her family. "In my personal life, I really can't say why, but I've never felt more confident and happy. "I have a wonderful man in my life who is so incredibly supportive that makes it possible for me to have those experiences," she added in reference to her continuous film roles. "It's been a really fun time."

Kate says she's happier than ever with husband Ned

The 39-year-old, who currently promoting her new movie Insurgent in which she plays malevolent character Jeanine Matthews, said that in spite of her evil on-screen character, her children Mia, 14, Joe, 12, and one-year-old Bear, aren't afraid of her. "I'm their mum, and they're never scared of me" she laughed. "So, no, the crazy act didn't work on them." Kate's eldest children are also taking an active role in advising their mum about what jobs she takes on.

The couple married in 2012

"They do very much have an opinion on what I do and don't do these days," she said, explaining that when she posed the idea of starring in the Divergent Series to her kids, their response was: "You should definitely do it!" "The idea that their mom would play this baddie was incredibly exciting," she added. Kate and Nick met in 2011 while they were both holidaying on Necker – the island owned by Ned's uncle Sir Richard Branson. A year after they started dating Kate tied the knot with Ned, who was born Ned Abel Smith, in a secret ceremony in December. The duo welcomed son Bear Blaze on 7 December 2013.
