Ed Sheeran has finally released the new music video for his hit song Galway Girl, which stars Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan. Filmed in Galway and Dublin, the video was actually shot by the British singer himself. Saoirse, 23, takes the lead in the video, with the pair heading to various pubs and hitting the Irish streets to meet fans. Irish entertainment pair Tommy Tiernan and Hector Ó hEochagáin also make a brief cameo as well as folk band Beoga.

Alongside the music video, Ed tweeted: "Here's the Galway Girl video, shot by me, thanks to everyone who featured in it! X." The popular track comes from Ed's third studio album '÷' as it continues with its reign as this year's biggest-selling album. Having sold over 7 million copies worldwide since its release in March, the LP has remained at number one in the UK's Official Album's chart for 8 consecutive weeks. His single Shape of You has held the UK's top spot for a total of 14 weeks.

The past few months have been incredible for the singer/songwriter. After he released his third studio album, Ed has been busy promoting his comeback singles - his first releases since 2015. Speaking about his monumental comeback, Ed said: "Hello 2017! I've been working hard on the new material and I hope you can be as excited about it as I am. I really wanted to show two different sides to my music that I'm equally as passionate about and I just knew I wanted to roll with two songs at the same time. I'm absolutely buzzing to be back." Rounding off his phenomenal sold out UK & Ireland tour at London's O2 this week, Ed will return to the UK for his Glastonbury headline performance on Sunday 25th June.
