Despite the rumours of disputes amongst the Desperate Housewives cast, the team are just as close off screen as they are on it. That much was clear as they attended a discussion panel in California, as part of their press tour to promote the final ever season of the show. Laughing and joking, the leading ladies from Wisteria Lane showed the chemisty that has made the popular series such a huge hit around the globe.

Eva Longoria and Ricardo Antonio Chavari (who plays her on screen husband Carlos) were particularly affectionate as they chatted candidly to the press. The cast spoke about their characters and their individual dramas, whilst creator Marc Cherry addressed the question on all fans' lips… will there be a movie? Marc mentioned he had spoken to Sex and The City creator Michael Patrick King about the possibility, and compared the two shows. "Sex and the City only did like 69 episodes. The advantage for them was they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters," he said. "After eight years, I think we're done. I'm happy about it. It's not a bad thing. I feel very satisfied with where we are. I'm never sending these girls to Dubai. That's all I'm saying."

Another hot topic was how the final season of Desperate Housewives would end.Marc told the audience that he has known exactly how the last act would play out for years. And once telling the rest of the show’s writers of his plans, he chose not to take on their suggestions and go with his own initial idea. However, he declined to hint at what it was: "I'm not revealing what the ending is going to be, I'm being hyper-protective of it." Executive producer Bob Daily added: “We don’t want to tie up every loose end. Life goes on in Wisteria Lane".
