Jean Paul Gaultier's most famous client Madonna dropped in fashionably late to his show in Paris. But the singer - who aided the designer's rise to fashion stardom by wearing the famous conical bra he created - could be forgiven her tardiness. So celebs and models alike waited patiently until proceedings started an hour behind schedule.
Both have grown in sophistication since her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour. The former enfant terrible of French fashion is now the darling of haute couture, while Madonna enjoys nothing more than a spot of yoga or a horse ride around her country manor.
The 47-year-old performer seemed pensive as she took her seat in thigh-high boots and a black coat. Later, however, she was seen in animated discussions with flamenco idol, Joaquin Cortes, and fashionistas in the front row.
One of Madonna's favourite dancers, the Spaniard is as well-known for his relationships with Naomi Campbell and Mira Sorvino as for his charismatic performances and dazzling footwork.
