Most of the celebs gracing the front rows at the fashion shows are deliberately dressed down, sporting jeans and sober-hued jackets as they quietly peruse upcoming trends from the cutting-edge maestros. Why then was Jennifer Lopez tricked out in a figure-hugging little frock with impeccably coiffed hair and red carpet make-up?

The answer is that the curvaceous singer/actress was Dolce and Gabbana's special guest, bringing a touch of high-octane glamour to the Italian duo's Milan show, which she attended with her husband Marc Anthony.

Fashionistas were delighted to see J Lo, herself a designer, appear briefly on the runway prior to the main event. She then settled down in the front row, casting affectionate glances at fellow singer Marc during the proceedings.

But she won't have taken her eyes off the catwalk for too long – with four new films in the pipeline this year, the actress will be keen to check out the Oscar-worthy gowns Dolce and Gabbana presented as part of their collection.
