Pierce Brosnan enjoys a pint of his favourite tipple with his best man, Bron Roylance, in the Ashford Castle bar on the eve of his wedding

Keely and Bond star Pierce were married in a fairytale ceremony at the 800-year-old Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland on Saturday

6 AUGUST 2001
Proving that the fourth time is lucky, James Bond star Pierce Brosnan and television reporter Keely Shaye-Smith finally made it to the altar in a fairytale ceremony at the 800-year-old Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland on Saturday. One hundred guests jetted in from all around the world for the intimate wedding - and HELLO! was there too - capturing exclusive images of the day and speaking to the couple in an in-depth interview on the eve of their wedding.

Pierce and Keely have attempted to walk down the isle together an astounding three times previously, but on each occasion were thwarted by circumstances or misfortune. Initial plans had to be called off after Keely and the couple’s four-year-old son Dylan Thomas were trapped in their Californian home for a week by floods. The second ceremony was cancelled after Pierce’s 17-year-old son Sean was seriously injured after a car in which he was travelling plunged into a ravine. Then Keely discovered she was pregnant with their second son, Paris Beckett, who was born in February.

This time however, everything was perfect and you can read all about the couple’s romantic ceremony in this week’s issue of HELLO! magazine, on sale August 8 and here on the website. There will also be further coverage of the wedding, with exclusive pictures of the reception the following week, August 14.
