With his daughter Suri safely tucked up bed, Tom Cruise stepped out with his other "princess", fiancée Katie Holmes for the Hollywood screening of Mission: Impossible III. Well-wishers screamed with delight when the couple made their appearance on the red carpet outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre.



For her first outing since the birth the Batman Begins actress had chosen a loose-fitting LBD, which was perfect for her post-pregnancy curves. At times the new mum looked a little overwhelmed by all the attention, but smiled gamely for her partner's fans.

Ever the showman, Tom couldn't resist indulging in a display of public affection, planting a big kiss on the lips of the mother of his child. The 43-year-old star also posed for mobile phone pictures and got the chance to inspect a banner reading: "Congrats on baby Suri. We love you".

Since his daughter's birth on April 18 the actor has criss-crossed the globe with Katie's permission, to promote his new flick, but on Thursday he was happy to be able to share the excitement with the woman he refers to as "an absolute champ".
