GORGEOUS HALLE REPORTS FOR NAVAL DUTY

26 MAY 2006

Halle Berry whipped up a Storm of excitement when she landed on a naval vessel docked in New York Harbour to promote the latest installment of The X-Men trilogy The Final Stand. Wearing a helmet and a military life jacket, the actress would have looked combat ready if it hadn't been for the cute white sundress and turquoise necklace she was also sporting.

After alighting from a helicopter Halle - who plays the big screen series' sultry weather goddess - met sailors on the USS Kearsarge. Along with her co-stars Australian hunk Hugh Jackman and Frasier actor Kelsey Grammer, the Hollywood temptress signed autographs and posed for pictures with the ship's crew.

Her good grace came in spite of a mishap she suffered running to catch a plane from Cannes back to the Big Apple. The film world's most beautiful mutant was in such a rush she ended up with a broken toe. Not that the injury stopped her from stepping out in a pair of staggeringly high black wedges. "I've still got my heels on! What's a girl going to do, right?," she commented. "I knew it was bad news the minute it happened. And yeah, it hurts."
