Cheryl Cole has revealed she feels "empowered" as she looks to celebrating her 30th birthday later this year. The Girls Aloud singer said that after ten years in the spotlight she isn't worried about hitting the milestone. "I'm turning 30 in June," she said. "I was like I've had an incredible decade in this industry, with the highs and the lows; 30 is a very empowering age for me. I feel the best I've ever felt."

Speaking to Richard Arnold on Daybreak this morning, the singer laughed off speculation she would ever release a fitness DVD: "No, I look awful when I’m working out. The frizzy hair, the red face - it's not a pretty site. It's not something you'd want on a big TV screen, trust me." Last month, Girls Aloud announced they would be going their separate ways following their successful Ten-Hits anniversary tour, which celebrated their time together. "I cherish the last tour because it was special, it was the end of an era. Only the five of us know how it felt to be in that group," she said. "Let's go out on a high and be remembered for the incredible pop music we made together."

After the demands of the tour, Cheryl has revealed she plans to take a well- deserved break. "It's exciting to have no plans for once." she said. "I got a little way in with the third album then put it to one side to concentrate on the girls, so I don't know. I had a third single planned, but now it feels like it was part of 'then', so I don't know." However, the singer did express her desire to continue making music. "Music is my first love, so I'll never leave that behind."
