Martin made a name for himself on TV in the late Sixties and early Seventies in shows like Coronation Street and The Professionals. While big on the small screen, he also enjoyed a successful on-stage career, starring in his first West End production in 1967. More recently he had an acclaimed run on Broadway in An Ideal Husband, snagging both a Tony and a Drama Desk award. Twenty-first-century TV highlights include the popular Judge John Deed series.
