King Juan Carlos and his wife Queen Sofia no doubt relished the opportunity to unite their family for a break on the Med this summer. The only member of the dynasty who wasn't present for the photoshoot was the Infanta Cristina's new daughter Irene. Her mum obviously decided it would be better for her baby girl, who is just two months old, to stay out of the strong sunshine.
Her three sons, Juan, Pablo and Miguel, were all enjoying the chance to spend some quality time with their grandparents, though. And their aunt, the Infanta Elena, was also on board, along with her husband Jaime and youngsters Felipe and Victoria.
But the person attracting most attention from royal watchers was Crown Princess Letizia, who is expecting her first child with husband Felipe in November. With her bump now clearly visible, the mum-to-be kept her cool in sunglasses and a white skirt and top. Her pregnancy means that this time next year her father-in-law Juan Carlos will have seven grandchildren to play with as he enjoys his summer break. |
