The bride, who made her entrance on her father's arm, wore an elegant lace and satin gown, complete with three-metre train, for the afternoon affair, held at the Grote of St. Jeroenskerk in the village of Noordwijk. Dressed in military regalia for his special day, Prince Pieter-Christiaan arrived accompanied by his mother Princess Margriet, one of Queen Beatrix's younger sisters.
Among the invitees were the entire Dutch royal family, including the queen, her son Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his wife, Crown Princess Maxima. The crown princess, who gave birth to a daughter, Alexia, just two months ago, was looking as radiant as ever in a huge, bright pink hat and matching coatdress.

The couple, who announced their official engagement in February, plan to live in Amsterdam, though they have hinted they would like to return to the UK one day. |
