Having just sorted out accommodation in the Spanish capital - they leased a place in the north of Madrid this week while waiting for their new home to be made ready - David and Victoria Beckham have apparently turned their attention to Majorca.

With the 29-year-old England captain back in Spain training with Real Madrid, the Beckhams already appear to be thinking about possible getaway destinations. According to reports, the pair have been showing interest in a fabulous £2-million villa on the island, originally renovated by Richard Branson. The property is located in the upmarket resort of Banyalbafur, on cliffs overlooking a charming fishing village.

Majorca is a favourite destination for a host of celebs, and should the Beckhams' purchase go ahead the couple will number Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones among their neighbours.

Other big fans of the island include Claudia Schiffer and her British film producer hubby Matthew Vaughan.

The German supermodel, who is a regular visitor to the sun-drenched isle, was spotted out and about there this week. Looking cool in a classic white sundress which clearly showed off her six-month bump - she is expecting her second child in November - Claudia dropped by some local shops. She and her family have owned several properties on Majorca over the years, with the model currently enjoying a holday base in nearby Camp de Mar.

Fellow celeb Claudia Schiffer is a long-time fan of the island, and has maintained her own bolt-hole there for years. Currently six-months pregnant with her second child, the supermodel is enjoying some quality time there at the moment
