Babington House: the Georgian estate in the heart of Somerset where Eddie Redmayne got married

Eddie Redmayne married his long-term girlfriend, Hannah Bagshawe, in a winter wonderland-themed ceremony at private members' club Babington House on Monday. The duo, both 32, enjoyed a candlelit ceremony at 5:30pm local time which was attended by "a small number of close family and friends".

The Theory Of Everything actor and his beloved aren't the first celebrities to choose the exclusive venue, which is the country cousin of ultra cool media hangout Soho House. The Grade II* listed manor house has been home to a large number of high-profile weddings in the past. Radio personality Zoe Ball married Fat Boy Slim there in 1999 and Quality Street heiress and former Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh wed her rapper beau Professor Green in the lavish 18-acre Georgian estate last September.

In the heart of Somerset, Babington House is perfect for those who want to enjoy the traditional English countryside but aren't prepared to compromise on urban luxuries. Situated just a two-and-a-half hour drive from London or an hour and 20 minutes by train to Bath Spa, it is also easy to get to.

Wedding parties get to take over the residence for a day. The Main House has a restaurant, traditional stone Orangery Orangery – where the wedding lunch or dinner is served – Deli Bar, Library, Snooker Room and Study. Just 33 beautifully-finished guest rooms – some complete with a freestanding bath by the bed, a tub on a private terrace or lake views – are on offer at the stunning estate set in Somerset's rolling countryside.

Other excellent facilities include the Cowshed Relax spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools, a gym, steam room, sauna and 45-seat cinema. The lush grounds have five tennis courts, cricket pitch, croquet lawn, walled garden, private 18th century chapel and a lake.

A wedding package which offers a wedding on a Thursday and includes everything you could think of including flowers, the chapel ceremony, a DJ, champagne, wedding cake, midnight snacks and even a full English breakfast the next morning comes with the very reasonable price tag of £35,000.
