Speaking recently to Diva magazine, the star revealed: "That was meant to be the long-term goal from when I came into the show, and that was the whole reason they brought (Tina's ex-girlfriend) Tosh in – to give some sort of backstory to Tina.

"And then keep the Tina/Sonia thing running for as long as they could," she added. "So it's really nice… and (Natalie) is lovely to work with. "Asked whether she thinks the couple's relationship would be important for the show's young gay viewers, Luisa replied: "I think it's absolutely brilliant. Somebody actually tweeted the other day that what they loved about Tina was that she was just really normal. They said that it's lovely to see a lesbian portrayed just like anyone else in the Square."
