Newlyweds Chris Evans and Billie Piper have even more good news on the way as pop singer Billie is said to be expecting the couple’s first child. In anticipation of the birth, DJ Chris may vacate his morning show post to concentrate on being a good father.

“Chris wants nothing more than to be a proud dad,” says one friend of the ginger-haired DJ. “All the tongues are wagging that Billie is expecting. She’s supposed to have told her family – and there’s no better time for him to bow out of the limelight.”

“It seems someone in the family has let the cat out of the bag despite the couple’s attempts to keep the happy news quiet,” adds one insider.

Rumours of Billie’s pregnancy surfaced after photos of her apparently swollen tummy emerged, though friends claim the extra pounds are just a result of too much celebration.

Fuelling the pregnancy reports, Chris is said to be looking for a replacement host for his popular morning show. Apparently Chris is just “going through the motions” and approached Steve Penk with an offer.

“It’s all change for Chris,” one insider said. “He’s married and he wants a new lifestyle. The adrenaline rush of presenting a show just encourages the benders. He has to step away from all that stuff now.”

Evans needn’t worry about money as he reportedly pocketed £75 million when he liquidated his Ginger Media Group back in March of 2000. Chris has a 12-year-old daughter, Jade, from a previous relationship.
