TV presenter Gail Porter, formerly known for her cheeky ways, is two months pregnant and very much looking forward to being a mum. Though she previously admitted motherhood wasn’t part of her plan – “There isn’t a maternal bone in my body,” she once revealed – the Dotcomedy host is said to be overjoyed with the news.

Gail, whose naked body was once famously projected onto the House of Commons, married Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave in August. And friends say he was keen to start a family immediately.

“Even on their honeymoon he talked about it,” one insider told The Mirror. “Gail wasn’t too keen on it at first as she didn’t think it was the right time in her career. But she has decided she really wants children, too, and the time was right.”

It seems 26-year-old Dan has had quite an effect on his new wife. “There was me saying: ‘I’ll never get a husband. I’ll never be a mum’,” Gail admitted. “Now I’ve found my soulmate and I feel totally calm.”

The baby is due in August just in time for their first wedding anniversary.
