No boarding pass for Paris' beastly friends

Society heiress Paris Hilton failed to impress flight attendants at Las Vegas Airport when she tried to board a plane with a goat, a monkey and a ferret. The catwalk beauty had bought the animals during a shopping spree in the gambling paradise, but she ran into trouble when time came to take her new pets home to Los Angeles.

"I tried to take them on the plane and the flight attendants thought I was insane," revealed the svelte 21-year-old afterwards. "They were like 'this isn't a travelling circus – you're not bringing a goat on the plane'."

In the end her furry friends did get to travel in style, however, because Paris organised a limousine to ferry them back to LA. The ubiquitous It-girl, who is in line to inherit her father's £40-million hotel empire, is well known as an animal lover and often carries her pet dog in her handbag.

During filming of reality show The Simple Life she came into contact with the farmyard variety when she had to milk cows, though she seemed less than impressed with the experience.
