Peaches and Pixie Geldof lent a touch of youthful glamour to a very English affair on Thursday night. Bob Geldof's daughters mingled with the likes of model Saffron Aldridge, Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour and his wife, writer Polly Samson at the bash thrown by a society magazine.
Fifteen-year-old Pixie looked as fresh as a summer's day in a Fifties-style floral frock, while her elder sister was taking a walk on the wild side in a leopard print dress.
Independent-minded Peaches, who's 17, is already carving out a place for herself in the spotlight. Apart from her fledgling career as a newspaper columnist, she's also formed a band with her best friend Fiona Ritchie.
"They’ve already played a few mini gigs to their mates around Hoxton in London," said a source. "They’re going for a bit of a Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things-style vibe."
The aspiring musician, who is earning a reputation as one of the coolest teens in the country, also wants to try her hand at DJ-ing. But despite her regular appearances on the London social scene her father is still the one firmly in control. The young lady has been known to disappear Cinderella-style just before midnight because dad's at home watching the clock.
On one occasion the millionaire rocker rang the organisers of a party to set down his guidelines for the evening. "She's only 17 and should not be drinking," he told them.
