Party girl Peaches Geldof is set to further her on-screen career in a new TV series about religion. The daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates is to present a Channel 4 documentary A Beginner's Guide To Islam in which she will travel to Morocco to learn more about the faith.

The stylish teen will live with a devout Islamic 18-year-old in her family home, experiencing traditional rituals such as a "taking the veil" party and travelling to the Atlas mountains to expel her bad 'jinn'. The hour-long documentary is part of a three-episode series which also explores Hinduism and Scientology.

Former EastEnders actor Paul Nicholls will travel to India to learn more about Hinduism, meeting a spritual teacher in the sacred town of Rishikesh. Meanwhile comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli will study the modern movement made famous by celebrity followers such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

A programme spokeswoman explained: "The contributors will come face to face with three of the world's most talked about religions, exploring their unfamiliar rituals and testing regimes."

Peaches, 17, made her presenting debut with a documentary on teenagers for Sky One last year. Her latest TV project is due to air on Channel 4 in the autumn.
