Christmas came early this week as stars of The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause celebrated the festive movie’s upcoming release in LA. Canadian actress Wendy Crewson and her co-star Tim Allen certainly seemed to be getting in the holiday spirit as they attended the flick’s after-party, which had been decorated with glittering mini Christmas trees and snowflakes.

Newlywed Tim plays Scott Calvin aka Santa Claus in the third installment of the popular movie franchise - which also features another Canadian funnyman, Martin Short, as evil Jack Frost. The 53-year-old former Home Improvement star, who married his girlfriend Jane Hadjuk in October, revealed that playing Santa doesn’t get any easier, however.

“I don’t like it any more than the first time,” says Tim referring to the 75lb costume and hours of make-up needed to transform him into the famously jovial character. “They’ve got a chair that reclines and there’s somebody to rub my feet a little bit," he joked.

Toronto-based mum-of-two Wendy has been a key character in the Walt Disney productions since the first Santa Clause came out in 1994, and now plays Tim's ex-wife who works to help him keep control of the North Pole. Ann Margaret and Alan Arkin take on the roles of Tim's irritating in-laws, while Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell plays Mrs Claus for the second time.
