No stranger to reinvention, Kylie Minogue made another comeback on Tuesday night - this time bouncing back from her recent break-up with long-term beau Olivier Martinez. Sparkling in £1 million worth of diamonds and the very essence of glamour in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana gown, she is clearly determined to start life as a new singleton in the most upbeat way.

Accompanied by her stylist William Baker, the diminutive Aussie star put a brave face on the end of her four-year romance with the French heart-throb, and was quick to thank her fans for their support. "I have struggled all day to think of what to say tonight," she admitted. "There are so many friends tonight so I thank you all."

Her popularity is undoubtedly as strong as ever. Four thousand advance tickets have already been sold for 'Kylie - The Exhibition' which officially opens on Thursday. Kylie's fashion retrospective in South Kensington is something a little different for the museum, which houses priceless cultural artifacts from around the world.

One of the key pieces in the Kylie display is a pair of 50p gold hot pants which were sourced from a flea market and helped re-launch her pop career - she wore them in the video for her 2000 hit single Spinning Around. The exhibition also features the dungarees she wore as Charlene in the Australian soap Neighbours, as well as the Galliano corset she donned for her 2005 Showgirl tour.

As some of the 38-year-old singer's wardrobe gets a high profile in London, her former lover's clothes and possessions are getting less illustrious treatment. Kylie has apparently gathered up £100,000 worth of his belongings, which remained in her London homes, and sent them by courier to Los Angeles where Olivier is currently staying. According to reports a pair of antique diamond earrings and a friendship ring he gave her were among the items included in the package.
