David Gest's alternative brand of humour won over I'm A Celebrity… fans when he appeared on series six of the reality show. And the American music empresario had some more humorous drama up his sleeve as, clad in priestly garb, he performed a mock baptism on Kerry Katona on Monday evening.

The moment came during a performance of David Gest… My Life! A Musical Concert Extravaganza at London's O2 Arena. David, who was formerly married to Liza Minnelli, invited fellow jungle star Kerry, who took part in the third series, onstage where she happily played along, genuflecting with a smile.

It was the second meeting between the pals in a week. Kerry, looking glossy, groomed and fabulous after £15,000-worth of surgery filmed for her reality show Whole Again, bid for the honour of dining with her American friend at a gala evening and charity auction on Sunday.

David Gest… My Life! A Musical Extravaganza, which was written by the 55-year-old, is a music and comedy mix featuring performances by ten musical stars, including Total Eclipse Of The Heart singer Bonnie Tyler and Motown star Russell Thompkins, lead singer with The Stylistics.

Afterwards the 28-year-old mum-of-four leads the applause for her friend. Speaking before the tour began on Saturday, David said: "I love being on stage in front of people... it is the most exhilarating thing in the world!"
