Paula Patton has filed for divorce from her estranged husband Robin Thicke.
The couple, who announced their split in February after nine years of marriage, had been together for a total of two decades.
Paula, 38, is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their four-year-old son, Julian. A source told TMZ that the former couple's split is "harmonious".
Since their split earlier this year, Robin has made no secret of wanting to win his childhood sweetheart back.
The Blurred Lines hitmaker was desperate to reconcile with Paula following a rocky period in their romance, reportedly beginning when the American vocalist performed at the MTV Video Music Awards with Miley Cyrus last year.
The controversial collaboration saw the pair team up to sing his racy hit where the former Disney starlet shocked audiences by "twerking" provocatively against him.
After their split, Robin made several public pleas in an effort to win his wife back.
"She's a good woman," he gushed to the crowd at a Virginia concert, after sharing news of his separation.
The singer also penned his latest album, Paula, about his estranged wife, following rumours he cheated on her.
He previously said: "My music is my therapy. When I make these songs and I listen back to them, they make me feel good about myself because at least I'm admitting my faults, I'm trying to become a better man and better person."
