One Direction sport festive jumpers to perform classic Christmas song

One Direction and Jimmy Kimmel teamed up to sing one of our favourite Christmas songs on Monday whilst wearing festive jumpers. The British five-piece performed Santa Claus Is Coming To Town live alongside Jimmy and his studio band, The Roots, and each member played a classroom instrument.

Zayn Malik took on the triangle, Liam Payne the coconuts, and Louis Tomlinson played along with a tambourine. Sat in the front with Jimmy were Niall Horan, on the banana, and Harry Styles, who had a go on the kazoo before banging the drum.

It's been a brilliant end to 2014 for the lads, whose fourth album, Four, went in at number one in the UK and the US. As well as joining Jimmy on his show, they also performed live on Saturday Night Live and took part in several sketches.

Their trip to the US comes hot on the heels of their performance on The X Factor with Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood and at the inaugural BBC Music Awards.

They were also part of Bob Geldof's Band Aid 30, which is raising money towards fighting Ebola in West Africa, while the original song released in 1984 aimed to support anti-poverty efforts in Ethiopia.

As part of the charity single's promotion, the band had their faces projected on the side of the Houses of Parliament earlier in December.
