Lewis Hamilton and Tom Cruise surprise Nicole Scherzinger backstage at Cats

Nicole Scherzinger had some very special visitors to her West End performance of Cats last week as her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton and Tom Cruise joined the cast backstage.

The 36-year-old, who is currently starring as Grizabella the glamour cat in the show, looked thrilled as she posed with her guests and the rest of the cast for a photo that Lewis later shared on Instagram.

"latergram @nicolescherzy, Tom & I backstage after watching Cats last week! #Grizabella #JellicleCats #ThatSongIsStillStuckInMyHead" he wrote.

Tom is currently in London filming the latest instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise but took time out to enjoy the performance.

Lewis is evidently proud of his girlfriend's role in the show, as he also joined her backstage at the show early in December and tweeted: "Saw Cats musical last night, @NicoleScherzy blew me away! An incredible talent, as well as the rest of the cast!"

Due to her role in the musical Nicole was unable to go home for Christmas this year, however her parents, sister and nieces flew over to London and also joined her backstage at the London Palladium, much to her excitement.

In a picture shared on Instagram she wrote: "So happy and #grateful my mom, dad and #family could come all the way to #London to be with me for #Christmas".

Nicole has previously said she feels "honoured" to be appearing in the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical.

"I am really thrilled to be making my West End debut in such an iconic show," she said as her role was confirmed.

"I grew up listening to Andrew's extraordinary music and was lucky enough a couple of years ago to record Cats' beautiful song Memory.

"Andrew's score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career."
