Scott Disick's fans were somewhat surprised when the reality TV star left rehab after just a week, but Kourtney Kardashian's long-time love has insisted that that was always the plan. Scott, who made the brave decision to enter the facility earlier this month, says he plans to go back to the Rythmia Life Advancement Center at a later date.
"The funny thing is, a lot of people were under the impression that I was going to this rehab facility in Costa Rica for a month," Scott told People magazine. "When the truth was, I was going for a week for one treatment that they have there.
"I'm not done," he added. "I plan to go back to this place. It's an amazing place. It's beautiful and I love it, but I wasn't able to spend three or four weeks there right now. I never planned on it and everyone keeps telling me that I dropped out early.
Scott says he plans to return to the rehab facility
Scott revealed that he's so adamant that the plan was for him to only spend a week at the facility, that he was going to provide photographic evidence for his fans.
"I wanted to actually Instagram or tweet a photo of my tickets that showed that I never intended to stay any longer than I stayed." he said. "I'm a work in progress and anything that I can do to better myself, I'm trying."
New York-born Scott went on to discuss the benefits of the rehab centre, calling it "very therapeutic".
"It helped my dramatically to see some of the things that have troubled me in the past," he said. "I hope it helps me even more to get to a point where I'm fully cured of some of things that I struggle with."
Scott's long-time love Kourtney has been supporting him
It's been a difficult year for father-of-three Scott, who is known for his partying ways and has seen them documented on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Scott's struggles with sobriety have become worse since he lost his mother Bonnie and father Jeffrey within months of each other in 2013 and 2014.
"The whole family is so devastated and Scott is beside himself," a source told E! News at the time of Jeffrey's death. "Scott is an only child with no remaining family."
The 31-year-old then upset Kourtney with his stunned reaction to her pregnancy news which was shown on the E! reality show, before later coming round to the idea, saying he needed to "relax and enjoy the third time around" and adding that the other children had been "an amazing blessing".
