Taylor Swift consoled a fan who is grieving for her late mother on Sunday. The 25-year-old reached out to the girl on Tumblr, telling her that she had lived through her "worst fear".
The fan, a young girl called Kaileen, had sent Taylor a message on Tumblr telling her that she felt "empty" since the death of her mother in 2014. However she added that Taylor's music was helping her through the dark time.
"Today's going to be another hard day, but I know with you on my side I can get through everything," Kaileen wrote.

In response Taylor wrote a heartfelt note, expressing her admiration and best wishes to the young fan.
"Kaileen- I love you so much and can't imagine what you must be feeling today. You've lived through my worst fear. I'm so sorry you can't spend today with her," Taylor wrote. "It's not fair, and there's no reason why you should feel okay about it. No one should ever expect you to feel normal today."
She continued: "I admire and respect your ability to put forth such a sunny, sweet disposition when you've been through something so dark and tragic so recently. I never would have guessed by your attitude or your posts. I never would've known if you hadn't told me. Sending you a huge hug today. Gonna go get iced coffee and cheers to you. :)"
Taylor Swift recently revealed her mum has cancer
The message comes just weeks after Taylor revealed that her own mother, Andrea Swift, had been diagnosed with cancer. The Shake it Off singer shared the sad news on her Tumblr page, telling fans that her mum "wanted you to know".
"I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer," Taylor wrote. "I'd like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know."
Taylor often uses her Tumblr account to communicate with fans, and previously consoled a fan who was heartbroken after her boyfriend broke up with her. The generous star has also sent money and handmade gifts to loyal fans that she has discovered on social media.
