It's only been two weeks since Kim Kardashian announced that she and her husband Kanye West are expecting their second child, but the reality TV star's fans have already been speculating about what the power couple will call their new arrival. Speaking in a recent interview with NPR show Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me, Kim revealed that her daughter North West's new sibling won't be called South West.
"I don't like South West because North will always be better, and she has a better direction," the mum-to-be told the radio station, adding that the idea of calling her child South would be "so stupid".
Kim says she and Kanye won't be calling their second child South West
When quizzed on whether she thought having children called North and South would set them up against one another, Kim replied: "I wouldn't do that [set them up in conflict with each other]. I don't think we'll go with another direction."
In the fortnight since she revealed that she is pregnant again, Kim has denied a series of rumours about her unborn child – from reports that she is having twins, to suggestions that the couple know their baby is a boy.
"So many rumours," she recently tweeted. "We are not having twins, yes I am carrying my own baby lol & we have not told anyone the sex of our baby yet!
"Nothing is confirmed unless you hear it from me," she added.
Kim and Kanye's daughter North will have a little brother or sister
Kim made the announcement about the long-awaited, happy news that she is expecting baby number two in a teaser for an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
A clip showed Kim seen receiving news that she's pregnant during an appointment with her doctor, she then tells sister Khloé: "I just got the blood test back, and I am pregnant!"
It was none other than Vogue editor Anna Wintour and singer Pharrell Williams who convinced Kim and her rapper love to name their first child North back in 2013.
Kim and Kanye recently celebrated their wedding anniversary
"Kanye and I were having lunch about a year ago and Pharrell came over to us and said, 'Oh my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name,'" Kim told GQ in September 2014. "I said, 'No, we're not. That's just a rumour.'
"Then a little while later Anna Wintour came over and asked the same thing," she added. "She told us, 'North is a genius name.' Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck."
