Gemma Arterton granted divorce from husband Stefano Catelli

Gemma Arterton and Stefano Catelli are officially divorced, nearly three years after separating. The actress was granted her divorce on Friday at the Central Family Court in London's High Holborn.

The former Bond girl, 29, was granted a decree nisi at a brief hearing, which neither she nor former partner Stefano attended.

Court papers made public show the couple officially separated on 1 November 2012 and that it was on the date the couple separated that she came to the decision the marriage was at an end.

Paperwork also states that a judge found that the actress was "entitled to a decree of divorce, the marriage having irretrievably broken down, the facts being proved being two years' separation by consent".

Gemma was said to have been devastated by the break-up. "It's sad but her marriage is over," a friend told The Mail at the time, revealing that the couple made the mutual decision to go their separate ways a couple of months ago.

In 2013 the actress spoke about their separation for the first time, telling Marie Claire: "It was a wonderful time and I have nothing bad to say about it. Even if they don't last relationships can enrich your life in some way and then you move on to the next part – it's all part of the process of living."

Tamara Drewe star Gemma started dating handsome fashion executive Stefano, now 42, in 2009. He quickly proposed at a summer music festival, and in June 2010 the pair tied the knot in secret in the beautiful village of Zuheros in Andalucia.

Clutching a bouquet of white roses, the English actress wore a cream gown and a veil as she exchanged vows in front of a select number of guests.

Gemma is currently dating French assistant director Franklin Ohanessian. The couple have been dating for a year and met while she was filming the comedy thriller The Voices.
