Just a month after celebrating on the soap, Kelvin Fletcher has reportedly quit Emmerdale. According to sources, the 32-year-old has already filmed his exit scenes – and is planning to become a rally driver.

A show insider told The Sun: "Bosses have managed to keep him leaving top secret but now the cat is out of the bag. Producers have given him a big, dramatic exit. It's going to be the perfect way to see off Andy."

Kelvin Fletcher has starred in Emmerdale for more than two decades

They added: "Show chiefs aren't necessarily saying it's for good and they are leaving the door open. But for now this is the last people will see of Andy for the foreseeable future."

Kelvin was first cast as Andy in the ITV soap in 1996 and avid viewers have watched him grow up over the past two decades. Most recently Andy was set up by his lover Chrissie Sugden, which has resulted in him facing trial for the murder for Lawrence White.

He and wife Eliza Marsland are preparing for the arrival of their first child

If the door is being kept open for a possible future return for Andy, will he be falsely imprisoned for the horrific charges?

It's gearing up to be a huge year for Kelvin; he and wife Eliza Marsland are expecting their first child any day now, and they used social media to confirm the exciting news in June.

Sharing a snap of them at the races, with Eliza wearing a figure hugging pink dress, she wrote: "Great day at Chester Races, even got a win in. Treating the bump to some VIP action @kelvin_fletcher."
