Holly Willoughby has revealed that she was stuck in traffic on the way to the Brit awards! The This Morning presenter shared a photo of gridlocked traffic with a road sign which read 'Blackwall tunnel southbound closed' and added the caption: "Erm???? Now what happens? #stuck." The glamorous star had shared a snap of herself dressed to the nines in a spectacular sequinned dress earlier in the evening, writing: "Right @brits let's be having you! #warnerbrits thanks @suzanneneville for my lil sparkly number... always huge thank you to my glam girls @Patsyoneillmakeup @angiesmithstyle @cilerpeksah."

She also shared a photo of herself with her husband, Dan Baldwin, who was having a quick nap in the car on the way to the glitzy evening, jokily writing: "Some of us are more Brits ready than others!!!! #wakeupdan." Fans were quick to offer advice on what the pair should do to get to the Brit awards on time, with one writing: "Go to Canary Wharf underground then 45 seconds on the tube to North Greenwich or sit in your car for 2 hours minimum," while another added: "You could walk to the O2 from Blackwall tunnel!"

The mum-of-three explained what had happened on Twitter, writing: "Apparently a lorry has taken out the mattrix sign in the tunnel... there is officially a glitch in the matrix! X" Luckily, Holly and Dan managed to make it to the red carpet on time, but the TV host wasn't the only celebrity to be running late for the evening! Both Emma Bunton and Caroline Flack also revealed that they were stuck in traffic, with the former Spice Girl telling fans: "Stuck in traffic!!!! #wanttoparty #gettingimpatient#brits2017," while Caroline added: "Stuck in annual Brits traffic ... will someone warm up my dinner pretty please :))))."
