James Corden and Kristen Bell's duet goes comically wrong

James Corden and Kristen Bell opened Tuesday night's episode of The Late Late Show with what was supposed to be a special performance. Unfortunately, the duet didn't go exactly as planned. The CHIP actress joined the British host on stage to sing the 1990's classic tune Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. The performance even included aerial lifts for dramatic effect, which soon turned into comedy gold when a wire handler kept lifting the two actors off balance.

Kristen was not too pleased about the technical difficulty. "We're supposed to be even! Honestly, we’re supposed to be even," the 36-year-old actress yelled. "Can you make us equal?" But being the professionals that they are, the show went on! Both the British actor and Veronica Mars star continued singing the song even with the little ( okay huge) mishap.

In the end, James held out hope that maybe the incident wouldn't make it to air. He is heard asking producers: "Can [we] fix it in post?" This isn't the first time the London Borough native has embarrassed himself on television. While hosting the Grammy's last month, James took a tumble down a flight of stairs, which resulted in him losing his mic pack during the opening monologue. This is the second hilarious video that James has shared with fans in the last two weeks. In mid-March, the British star invited the cast of Beauty and the Beast to help he recreate the iconic Disney film in the latest instalment of "Crosswalk Musical". And just like his duet with Kristen, James's performance had audiences in stitches.
