Melania and Rania spent the day together in D.C. on 5 April
Prior to the Queen’s tweet, Melania shared a message for her foreign guest, while revealing one of their topics of conversation from their day out. The mum-of-one tweeted: "I was honouted to welcome Queen Rania of Jordan at the @WhiteHouse today. I enjoyed spending the time speaking about our countries." Barron Trump’s parents welcomed the Jordanian monarchs to the White House on April 5. Like his wife, King Abdullah II also thanked his hosts tweeting: "Rania & I were honoured to visit with the President & First lady. Encouraged by @POTUS determination to support peace efforts & war on terror."
While at the presidential residence, Abdullah and the president held a joint news conference, during which the American leader noted that the United States is “blessed” to have a “thoughtful and determined partner” in the Jordanian King. Later in the day, Melanie and the Queen, who are both advocates for education, paid a visit to Excel Academy — a public charter school for girls in southeast D.C., where the ladies showed off their blossoming friendship. Prior to participating in a panel with students, parents and faculty of the school, Melania laughingly told Her Majesty: "You got very tall," to which the Queen replied: "Oh, I think it's my chair." "Bring me down to Earth," the royal said as she adjusted her seat.
