Rebecca Adlington has revealed she is looking forward to a family Christmas after completing her gruelling Mo Mission challenge in support of Movember's MOVE campaign. The former Olympic swimmer told HELLO! Online she will be spending the holidays with her former husband Harry Needs and their daughter Summer in Manchester.

"Me, Summer and Summer's dad, Harry, are spending Christmas together up in Manchester where we live," Rebecca said. "Now Summer is two and a half she's really starting to understand it a lot more, and we are taking her to a Santa's grotto and getting into the Christmas spirit this year. We have already been painting Santa decorations!"

The 28-year-old is also introducing some new family Christmas traditions with her daughter. "My Christmas traditions are reading Summer Twas the Night before Christmas on Christmas Eve. Always wearing Christmas jumpers on the day," Rebecca told HELLO! Online. "I like to get Summer involved in as much as possible, like helping decorating the tree and the house."

It will no doubt be a welcome break following Rebecca's most recent venture, which saw her training for and completing a 24 hour challenge, The Ultimate Mo Mission, alongside the likes of Iwan Thomas and Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson. Speaking about why she wanted to get involved in the challenge, Rebecca explained: "I wanted to get involved for two reasons. One being I'm a huge fan of the SAS Who Dares Wins TV show and I love a good challenge. Second reason being the work Movember as a charity do. I think it’s such an important charity and one you wouldn't necessarily associate a girl with, but the more reason I wanted to be involved."

Rebecca added: "My favourite part has been the group. We had such a great team of people and we were able to come together and work as a team and hopefully generate some good awareness for the Movember Foundation." As for the biggest challenge? "The most challenging part was some of the missions… interrogation was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. Something I don't want to experience again either," Rebecca said. "The lack of sleep and food was very difficult too. I love sleep and food so found that a tough one!"
