When top catwalk model Jasmine Guinness announced her pregnancy earlier this year, there was considerable speculation in the press about the baby’s “mystery” father. But his identity – Gawain Rainey, nephew of Lord Harlech – came as no surprise to friends and family of the couple.
“We didn’t deliberately keep it secret – we just didn’t give a press conference and shout it from the rooftops until we were sure everything was fine with the baby,” explains 23-year-old Jasmine, a member of the famous aristocratic brewing dynasty.
Cuddling three-month-old Arthur Elwood Patrick O’Dare Rainey at her paternal family’s Irish home, historic Leixlip Castle, she adds: “Our families, who are both very bohemian, have been friends all our lives. Gawain was six when I was born and he’s known me since. We’re totally interconnected and we’ve now been together for over a year now. As for the pregnancy, he was brilliant right from the start.”
