It's no secret that Harper Beckham is launching a beauty brand, and it appears the teen daughter of David and Victoria Beckham has inherited her mother's entrepreneurial spirit.
In a new conversation, the former Spice Girl revealed exactly how her 15-year-old skincare fanatic pitched her upcoming business, Harlo by Harper, while appearing on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.
During the conversation, Victoria revealed that Harper's dreams were organised into two PowerPoints.
"One, she wanted a beauty brand, and these are the reasons. No. 2, she wanted a perm. She wanted to perm her hair," she told the hosting duo.
"I said, 'Listen, wait till you're older; we'll talk about that for the beauty brand, but no to the perm,'" the former Spice Girl, who then showed off her own teenage perm with a throwback photo, replied.
Victoria continued: "Harper loves beauty and skincare, ever since she was little. She’s been on my lap while I had my hair and makeup done. She loves sitting in product development meetings with me."
And while Victoria admits that Harper "has a passion" and a "dream," she added, "But she’s young. She's in school. She's about to take her exams."
What do we know about Harper's beauty brand?
Harper Beckham’s upcoming skincare Harlo by Harper line is reportedly created for acne-prone skin. Harper's project was originally called HIKU BY Harper, which was scrapped over potential trademark similarities with existing brands.
The range is a personal passion project for the teenager, who recently had to consult a dermatologist after a breakout. Discussing the venture with entrepreneur Emma Grede, Victoria explained that her daughter accidentally triggered her skin issues by experimenting with unsuitable products
"She used to have beautiful skin, but like all young girls she was enticed by beauty brands, and she was putting a lot of product on her face that was not suitable for her skin and consequently ended up going to see a dermatologist because her skin was really, really bad."
Victoria noted that she fully empathised with Harper's situation, having faced similar struggles across every stage of her own life:
"I went through that journey myself. I suffered with child acne, teen acne and adult acne. Every acne under the sun, I've been there."
