Anna Kournikova leads high-octane catwalk show

Anna Kournikova served up a catwalk ace when she led a series of showbiz beauties down the runway this week. The Russian star swapped tennis whites for a slinky black corset dress at the annual GM fashion show in Los Angeles.

The annual event, which is staged by automotive giant General Motors, acts as a showcase for the hottest showbiz personalities and some equally stunning runabouts. Desperate Housewives siren Eva Longoria, who also took part, was accompanied by a high-performance Corvette when she emerged into the spotlight.

And Lindsay Lohan, who opted for a lacy black number with white body, made an equally high-octane impression when she shared the runway with another gleaming vehicle. Among the other A-list beauties setting flashbulbs blazing was The OC's Mischa Barton, who sent temperatures soaring in a sequined black number, and Carmen Electra, who looked just as ravishing in empire-waisted red.

It was the blonde bombshell from Moscow who garnered the lion's share of attention, though. Fashionistas who went along to the event couldn't help but notice that the 24-year-old, who sported muscular arms and shoulders during her tennis career, was looking rather more svelte. "My shape has transformed - I'm much narrower," she explained. "My shoulders are smaller, my torso is slimmer and my legs are leaner. When I was playing I never thought about my body – so long as I could slam a serve at a Williams sister."

Anna has been keeping a relatively low profile of late, but she's sure to hit the headlines once again this summer if rumours she is planning to wed Spanish hunk Enrique Iglesias prove to be correct.
