Anne Valerie Hash, a designer who has been described as "one of the best kept secrets in Paris", was among the designers getting the ready to wear shows off to a flying start in the French capital.
The young Frenchwomen, who numbers Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts among her celebrity clientele, presented an autumn/winter collection replete with her signature classic chic on Wednesday.
Working heavily in metallic fabrics – "to throw some light on these (grim) times" – the former Chanel and Dior designer sent down the runway a collection featuring sparkling threads across tulle, lace and tweed outfits finished with raw-edge ruffles.
At the Christophe Guillarme show the theme was 'Eve in the garden of Eden', explored through colourful, paradisiacal creations of printed silk which celebrate the female silhouette.
Fringes were ubiquitous at the Peachoo Krejberg show, where heavy tassels streamed from many designs. The label - formed by Indian textile designer Peachoo Datwani and Danish designer Roy Krejberg - takes an architectural approach, with garments marked by structural effects and complex tailoring.
