He may only be one year old, but Prince George is already being recognised for his fashion credentials... The son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, made his debut on GQ's prestigious Best-dressed Men 2015 list, coming in at 49th place. "Already following in the footsteps of his great-great-great-uncle, Edward VIII, and his grandfather, the Prince of Wales, Prince George looks set to become the UK's best-dressed man," said the magazine of the toddler.

George wasn't the only royal on the list – his grandfather, the Prince of Wales, came in at seventh place. "Prince Charles looks good in a suit, and it's him that tells the suit who's boss, not the other way around," they said. "We love the way that he gives life and personality to his clothes."

Prince George's fashion influence is already apparent. The Cath Kidston blue tank top that he wore for the official portraits to mark his first birthday sold out before the photos had even been released. And it Start-Rite, the brand of shoes that the toddler was sporting in the shots, also experienced 'the George effect'. The Norwich footwear brand, whose shoes have long been worn by royal children – said demand had soared since Prince William and Kate Middleton's first-born was spotted wearing one of their designs.

Apparently dealers and distributors around the world have been making frantic phone calls to the brand's headquarters to request more stock, according to the Daily Mail. "We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess have selected Start-rite shoes for Prince George," said company chairman Peter Lamble. "It's a great morale boost for the staff here in Norwich – and, of course, there is a commercial opportunity which could come from it as well."
