Pop icon Madonna and her director husband Guy Ritchie have recently been spotted out and about in the US taking courses in Kaballah, a branch of Judaism in which they’ve long been interested. Contrary to rumours, however, says the filmmaker, he and his famous wife won’t be remarrying in another ceremony reflecting the religion.

Speaking to US TV show Access Hollywood, Guy, whose high-profile nuptials were held in Scotland nearly two years ago, insisted there would be “no renewing our vows”. “I think we are happy with our vows as they are,” he added.

The Snatch director did confirm that he and his spouse have teamed up for five children’s books based on Kaballah that will be available during the holidays. And Guy was straightforward as usual as he explained why the couple decided to publish the tales. “We thought we'd do better to start with young fresh minds that haven't been contaminated by all the terrible things that the media bestows upon them,” he says.

Madonna and Guy’s other joint project – the upcoming Swept Away – was also based on the two putting their heads together. The mutual decision to remake the 1974 Italian film aparrently came about after video night at the Ritchie household. “Madonna put the video in the machine and I thought it was a film worth making,” he recalls. The filmmaker then simply asked if the Evita star would be up for collaborating on the project. Says Guy: “It all happened rather swiftly, actually.”
